At Zennbox, your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your information across both our web application and browser extension. By using Zennbox, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of data to provide and improve our services:
User Account Information: When you sign up or log in via Google Authentication or Email, we collect your email address, name, and profile picture (if available). This is handled securely through Supabase Auth.
Resource & Content Data: As Zennbox is a resource management platform, we store the content you create or save—such as notes, links, documents, and categorized resources—inside our database (hosted on Supabase). These are accessible only to you and are never shared without consent.
Extension Authentication: Our browser extension communicates with the main web app using a token-based authentication system. This ensures that only verified users can access and manage their data via the extension.
Usage & Diagnostic Data: We may collect anonymized usage data (e.g., number of resources saved, types of files, extension usage frequency) to better understand how users interact with Zennbox and improve functionality.
Payment Information: For users subscribing to our Pro version, payments are securely processed via Lemon Squeezy. We do not store your card details directly. Lemon Squeezy may collect your payment data in accordance with their own Privacy Policy.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the data you provide to authenticate your identity, enable access to your account, and save your resources across devices. This includes storing and syncing your learning materials, documents, links, and notes so they are easily available when you need them. We also use aggregated, non-identifiable data to improve platform performance, fix bugs, and enhance user experience. In cases where you have subscribed to the Pro version of Zennbox, your payment details are securely processed through Lemon Squeezy, and used solely to manage your subscription.
3. How We Share Your Information
Zennbox does not sell or trade your personal information to third parties. We only share your data with trusted service providers who support essential operations—for example, Supabase for authentication and storage, and Lemon Squeezy for billing and subscription management. In rare cases, we may be legally required to disclose personal data in response to legal obligations or law enforcement requests. Additionally, we may use certain data to investigate or prevent security threats or fraudulent activity on the platform.
4. Data Storage and Security
All user data is stored securely within Supabase’s managed infrastructure. We take multiple security measures to protect your information, including SSL encryption for data in transit, encryption at rest, secure authentication protocols, and access controls to prevent unauthorized access. We are committed to regularly auditing our security practices and taking reasonable steps to ensure the integrity of our systems.
5. Your Data Rights
As a user of Zennbox, you have the right to access, update, and delete your personal data at any time. You may also request to delete your account and have all associated data permanently removed from our system. In the near future, we also plan to support full data export options so that you can download and back up your stored content.
6. Third-Party Links and Services
Zennbox may contain links to external websites or allow you to integrate with third-party platforms such as Google Drive or Dropbox. We do not control the privacy practices of these third-party services and are not responsible for their content or data handling. We recommend reviewing their respective privacy policies before engaging with them.
7. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your Zennbox account remains active. Once you choose to delete your account, all associated personal data and saved resources are permanently removed from our system, unless retention is required to comply with legal obligations or to resolve disputes.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may occasionally update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the "Effective Date" at the top of this page and, where necessary, notify users through the application or email.
